Optimization of ASU

Scope:

  • Increase the gaseous production capacity or reduce the specific energy consumption (without and with CAPEX).

  • Overall Optimization will be achieved in following 3 phases

    • Phase 1: Capacity enhancement of Gaseous Oxygen without CAPEX

    • Phase 2: Energy optimization without CAPEX

    • Phase 3: Energy Optimization or capacity enhancement with CAPEX

Duration:
1 Month
Deliverables:
The average Gaseous Oxygen flow produced due to the warm part optimization is 3.72% higher than the baseline value agreed.
Challenges:

  • Very Tight Schedule for warm- part optimization

  • Delay in following phase of the project

Operational Training

Scope:
Operational Training Program in Cryogenic Air Separation Units
Duration:
1 Month
Deliverables:

  • 1800 TPD Air Separation Unit with Argon production and associated cryogenic storage & distribution system at Ballari

  • 3 Air Separation Units at Jamshedpur; one 875 TPD with argon production, one 900 TPD with argon and one 900 TPD without Argon production and associated cryogenic storage & distribution system.

Challenges:
To improve the technical and operational competencies of the operational teams at both Ballari and Jamshedpur plants

HAZOP Study

Scope:
The scope of the study covers the ATB phase 2 expansion-tank farm facilities in Johor, Malaysia. The concept involves investigating how the plant might deviate from the design intent.
Duration:
1 Month
Deliverables:

  • Preventive measures are provided for the identified hazards.

  • Recommendations are provided to mitigate the identified problems.

Challenges:

  • Very tight schedule for overall project completion.

  • Highly experienced project & operational teams.

  • The client wanted a thorough and deep analysis.

Feasibility Study for Pure N2

Scope:
Gaseous Nitrogen production by enriching Waste Nitrogen
Duration:
2 Months
Deliverables:
Technical feasibility Production of Gaseous Nitrogen from the enrichment of waste nitrogen is as follows:

  • Pure Nitrogen plant with LIN injection.

  • Pure Nitrogen plant without LIN Injection (using Liquefier).

Challenges:

  • To produce pure Gaseous Nitrogen technically, operationally and economically feasible at the rate of 25,000 Nm3/ hr (net) without using LIN.

  • Specific power consumption should be maintained as low as possible.

  • All the equipment shall fit in the available plant layouts.
